Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has responded to the legal controversy surrounding YouTuber Samay Raina and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia following their involvement in the show “India’s Got Latent.” The controversy stems from allegedly inappropriate comments made during the show. Agnihotri addressed Raina’s statement on X (formerly Twitter), offering a sardonic comment referencing Raina’s Kashmiri Pandit heritage.

Vivek Agnihotri tweeted, “Today, as a Kashmiri Pandit, @ReheSamay must have experienced how it feels when people who don’t agree with you come to lynch you. Welcome to the club.”

Raina’s statement on the matter reads: “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all Indias Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”

What is the controversy?

The core of the controversy revolves around Allahbadia’s comments on “India’s Got Latent.” He is accused of asking a contestant an inappropriate question related to body parts and suggesting an indecent act in exchange for Rs 2 crore. The outrage escalated following a controversial hypothetical question posed by Allahbadia: “Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?”

A police complaint has been filed against Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija. The First Information Report (FIR) alleges that they promoted obscene and sexually explicit content on the show. It cited multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Adding another layer, rumours persist surrounding the alleged breakup between Allahbadia and Nikki. However, neither party has officially confirmed their relationship. They have been romantically linked for some time.
